Ok so it's getting to be a bit much updating this blog, then writing almost the same thing in the journal I'm supposed to be writing for my ETHOS class. Since I started running yesterday, I'm also logging my runs on www.running2win.com. So I'm not planning on posting on here everyday anymore. Cool and interesting stuff like trips we take around Bolivia will obviously be covered and pictures will be shared but I doubt that anybody out there except maybe my mom enjoys reading "so I woke up, ran, ate breakfast, worked in the shop with Conrad and Caroline, then went to get lunch in Calacota. We ate at Pollo Copacabana (it's fried chicken) and accidentally ordered 3 pieces of chicken thinking it was a meal for 3 people. We then got ice cream and missed the sign that indicated that it was 2 for 1 Tuesday, resulting in a boatload of ice cream for each of us and a furthering of the stereotype that Americans eat too much. After lunch we talked about our projects with
Prolena <--somebody please tell me how to make an 'n' with a tilde over it without having to copy paste one- employees Mierko and Jorge. I tried running again afterwards. Monica made insanely delicious food for dinner as always. Peanut soup with noodles, peas and such, and a chicken leg (the soup broth was intoxicating), followed by more chicken and some french fries," and I can just call her with skype anyway.
So anyway, the notable stuff is that running up here is a bitch. I ran twice yesterday because the first one was so pathetically short and I figured two runs a day is twice the workout for my lungs and red blood cell production with still basically no work on my legs. I'm talking about an 11 minute run after which it took me a half hour to catch my breath, and a 16 minute run later during which my arms started falling asleep as if my circulation were cut off. Today I ran once, also for about 16 minutes, but I feel a little better and stop to catch my breath less each time so that's good.
I got some practice with the powertools today and I can proudly say that I am no longer afraid of the millions of sparks that fly all over the place while using them. Oh yea I'm a badass.
Here's some pictures I took yesterday around a spot right next to the house that Monica showed Conrad and I two days ago.
my poor attempt at a 'cool sun setting over the mountains' picture
Mallasilla
In the background you can see Mallasilla's own mini Christ Redeemer statue like in Rio de Janeiro.
It's on top of the mountain on the right. Maybe I'll check it out this weekend.
Your life sounds pretty lame. i do not enjoy reading this or looking at your pictures. i am not at all happy that you went on this trip. i hope you come back to ohio soon cause there are lots of cools things here. also the project you might work on - with that lame water stuff - yeah, boooooring. couldn't imagine a worse way for you to waste your summer gosh kyle!
ReplyDeletetilde on the n . . . I think there are easier ways, e.g., control-shift-tilde, then n
for the ñ, or control-apostrophe, then e for é
(not sure if that method works in blogspot format but it sure does in word)
haha ok stephen I didn't realize anyone was actually reading this stuff. Thanks for the tip but when I tried control+shift ~ n it opened an incognito window on chrome haha.
